Spring Bulbs & Fall Bulbs
Fall-planted, spring blooming bulbs are the best kept secret of Colorado gardening! Many of these bulbs are surprisingly hardy and low maintenance. Crocus, daffodils, tulips, and grape hyacinths are among the most familiar bulbs, but we stock many unique varieties such as allium, Siberian squill, snowdrops, and species tulips.
In spring, find ready-to-plant bulbs and tubers such as dahlias, begonias, caladium, cannas, lilies, freesia, colocasia, and allium. These spring-planted, summer flowering beauties do not typically survive Colorado winters without special effort, but you will love the exotic flair they bring to your garden.
Poinsettias & Holiday Bulbs
In November and December, Tagawa Gardens is transformed by hundreds of premium poinsettias, grown locally here in Colorado. Traditional reds are joined by spectacular varieties in gold, cream, pink, salmon, chartreuse, and variegated. With complimentary foil and bow, you will be delighted by a finished gift.
Amaryllis, paperwhite narcissus bulbs, and festive tabletop planters are among the beautifully giftable holiday pieces that also await you.
Autumn Pumpkins
As summer heat gives way to autumn harvest, we stock a massive selection of ornamental pumpkins, traditional jack-o-lanterns, and funky gourds. Paired with cornstalks, straw bales, Indian corn, colorful mums, and fun family photo ops, you’ll find everything you need to ease into the comforts of fall.
Wreaths & Fresh Evergreen
At Tagawa Gardens, you’ll find all the makings of holiday memories. By mid-November, we stock premium evergreen wreaths, mixed garland, fresh boughs, and pinecones. These holiday accents can beautifully transform your home from autumn to winter.
Our Annuals Team also arranges custom evergreen porch pots with freshly cut Frasier fir. These special pieces bring the ambiance of the holidays to your front door. With the right care, these winter pieces can last several weeks, well into the new year!
Premium Christmas Trees
By Thanksgiving weekend, we feature an indoor forest of fresh, hydrated Christmas trees, grown by family businesses across the country. Every Christmas tree gets a fresh cut and is placed in its own water stand inside our greenhouse. Once you find the perfect tree, we give it another fresh cut and carefully secure it to your vehicle, ready for your trip home!
Considered to be a perfect holiday tree for its longevity and fragrance, silver-green Fraser firs come to us from deep in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Frasers are preferred for their fragrance and longevity, performing well in the dry atmosphere of Colorado homes.
Noble Firs arrive from the foothills of the Cascade Mountains of Oregon through a family-owned business that has specialized in growing them for over 40 years. Noble firs are loved for their sturdy yet flexible boughs to hold all those lights and ornaments.
Family Traditions at Tagawa
Our Santa Claus is pure magic. In fact, the Santa experience at Tagawa Gardens might be one of our best kept secrets, discovered with great delight by more and more families each year. With Santa’s arrival the weekend of Thanksgiving, we hope you’ll celebrate this cherished family tradition with us. Appointments will be available for pre-booking in early November.
